Established in 2001, Patricia Lynch Associates (PLA) is a premiere lobbying company with professionals specializing in bi-partisan government relations. Founded by Patricia Lynch, PLA is listed as one of the top three lobbying and government relations firms in Albany.
Patricia Lynch Associate’s list of clients ranges from national companies to international institutions, as well as small scale business operations. As a group, PLA’s roster of lobbying associates and staff have a collective total of 200 years of experience within the New York State (NYS) Legislature, the Executive Chamber, and State, Federal and local offices, making PLA a credible and well-structured lobbying firm. With such expertise in the said fields, PLA is in position to map out the most efficient strategies to advance their clients’ causes. PLA’s portfolio also has an impressive depth with regards to notable clients.
Among PLA’s notable lobbying achievements since the beginning of its operations is the doubling of the number of traffic cameras to reduce and deter red light violators. PLA has also been hired to become the city lobbyist for Albany.
PLA has four offices in New York – Albany (headquarters), White Plains, Buffalo, and New York City. The company’s international relations are managed by their international affiliate, Lynch Sosa & Associates, in Panama City, Panama.
The firm is led by its founder and president, Patricia Lynch. Eight years before the foundation of PLA, Lynch served as the top staff member for Sheldon Silver, who was then the Speaker of Assembly. Lynch’s duties entailed setting legislative policy, managing media strategy and making arrangements with the Executive Chamber on budget and legislative policies. In addition, she supervises all political components affiliated with the Speaker’s responsibilities.
When not engaged with PLA matters, Lynch serves as a member of various non-profit organizations such as My Sister’s Place, a center for women and children who are victims of abuse and violence, and the Palace Theatre, a performing arts center located in Albany.
Lynch is also an active contributor to various pro-environmental efforts. She works with the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries, an environmental conservation organization that initiates research for environmental preservation and sustainability. Among the recent projects of the Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries is the Hudson River ecology research, particularly in the peninsula known as Denning’s Point.
